Supervisor Development

Doctoral Supervisor Development

Supervisor Development supports and inspires staff in doctoral supervisory roles at every stage of their career. Whether you are taking on supervision for the first time or are an experienced supervisor looking to refresh and enhance your practice, the programme offers a range of opportunities to develop your skills, explore emerging topics, and connect with others.

Delivered primarily online, with occasional in-person events, the programme includes Skills Development, Discussion, and Toolbox sessions led by specialist staff and expert guest speakers. These sessions provide practical strategies, evidence-informed approaches, and space to reflect on the opportunities and challenges of supervision.

Throughout the year, supervisors can also take part in Communities of Practice, with an expanded programme during July. These collaborative sessions offer a valuable opportunity to share experiences, exchange ideas, and learn from colleagues across disciplines.
