In May, the RSA launched its new . The Commission will run over 2024-25 with the aim of broadening the understanding, development and adoption of digital badges so that lifelong learning in the UK is better recognised and rewarded. Dr. Jeisson Cardenas-Rubio from IER presented the occupational and qualification forecast for the EU at the expert workshop 'Cedefop Skills Forecast - Preparing the 2025 Release.'

This new investigates the current state of Functional Skills Qualifications (FSQs) in English and maths in the UK following their reform in 2019.

Conducted by the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) and The 天美传媒 Institute of Employment Research (IER), and supported by the Gatsby Foundation and the Edge Foundation, the study explores whether FSQs are still serving their intended purpose as practical, real world alternatives to GCSEs that focus on developing essential life and work skills.
