Congratulations on receiving an offer to study at Warwick for the 2026/27 academic year. We鈥檙e delighted to welcome you to WMG and look forward to supporting you as you begin this exciting next chapter.

We are delighted that you have chosen to study your Master鈥檚 degree here with us at WMG and we look forward to getting to know you throughout this academic year.

Getting started

Starting a university course is an exciting journey, and we鈥檙e here to support you every step of the way. The section below guides you through an overview of the key stages you鈥檒l experience, from preparing before you arrive, to settling in when you get here, making the most of the opportunities available to you, and smoothly transitioning into your studies. Each stage is designed to help you feel confident, informed, and ready to succeed as you begin your time with us.

Before you arrive

As you get ready to start your course, there are just a few important steps to take to make sure everything is in place for a smooth arrival. Please remember to complete your enrolment, secure your accommodation, and finalise your finance as soon as possible. Doing this early will give you peace of mind and let you focus on the exciting journey ahead. If you need any help along the way, support is available and teams are happy to guide you through each step.

Complete Enrolment

You will receive an email from the enrolment team 4-6 weeks before your course start date, or within a week of accepting your unconditional offer if this is later, asking you to complete all of the tasks outlined here. Please do not try to complete Course Registration until you have received this email.

Moving to a new country and starting university is an exciting experience, but it can also bring a lot of questions. The International Orientation Course has been designed to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident before you arrive at Warwick.

You'll be able to visit your checklist on your mobile phone or computer at any time, whenever you need it. It will help you understand how to prepare for the start of term, organise your time and prioritise the things you need to do before and after you arrive.

You can choose to either apply to live on campus or secure accommodation off-campus.

Whatever you choose, there is a range of support available to you, especially as choosing to move to a new area can feel a little daunting.

Funding and Finance

We know you may have questions about paying your fees for tuition or accommodation, or how to manage your money when you arrive at Warwick. The information below should help and remember that the Student Finance Team have a list of helpful FAQs, including when and how to pay on their website.

Disability Support

If you have a disability or specific learning difference, it is important that you contact the Disability Services team before the start of your course to discuss support such as reasonable adjustments. There is a wide range of support options available that students can access for the duration of their studies.

Please note that if you are progressing from UG to PGT study at Warwick and have previously registered with Disability Services, you must re-register before starting your PGT course, as your information will not automatically transfer to your new programme.

When you arrive

Arriving on campus is an exciting step, but it can feel overwhelming, particularly if you鈥檙e new to the UK. To help you settle in, explore the links below before you arrive, covering everything from getting around and food and drink to social activities and wellbeing support.

When you arrive on campus, we recommend you download and familiarise yourself with the MyWarwick App. For your personal safety we also recommend downloading and registering with the SafeZone app.

In-sessional English

The Academic English Enhancement Programme offers a number of short modules designed to help you succeed in your studies at Warwick. It is designed for students who use English as an additional language.

Whether you want to improve your academic writing, participate more confidently in seminars, or understand assessment expectations, their modules support you throughout your degree. Registration opens on 21st September and closes on 30th September!

The MyWarwick app brings together information about many aspects of life at Warwick, putting everything you need to know into a single place. It can be used to view your teaching timetable, keep on top of your coursework deadlines, check your emails and calendar, get bus times and traffic alerts, see the weather forecast, and more.

Getting around

Your Campus Journey has information on travelling to campus, campus maps and travel updates.

We're here to help you get oriented and feel confident navigating your surroundings.

Social & Wellbeing

It鈥檚 important to look after your health while you鈥檙e here, and comprehensive wellbeing support is available to all students.

You can also stay active at our excellent Sports Hub, and access support from the on-campus chaplaincy, which welcomes and supports people of all faiths.

Food and Drink

There are plenty of places to eat on campus, including a small grocery store, while a larger supermarket with more choice is located just off campus.

Many WMG buildings and the Library also provide facilities where you can heat your own food.

Induction Week at WMG

WMG Induction Activities

WMG Induction Week will take place in Week 0 (Monday 28th September 鈥� Friday 2nd October). Induction Week (also known as Welcome Week) is designed to help you settle into university life and start connecting with the WMG community.

It is essential that you attend and engage with the sessions scheduled across both weeks. These sessions will give you a strong foundation for your studies and offer the chance to:

Learn about the structure and requirements of your course
Discover the wide range of opportunities available at WMG
Meet key members of WMG staff
Get to know your fellow students

A detailed timetable of induction sessions will be shared via the and in September.

Please remember to bring your laptop or smart device to all induction sessions.

If you鈥檇 like to get ahead, you can begin exploring WMG, learn more about clubs and societies, and get familiar with our IT systems using the links below.

WMG Buildings

WMG has a strong presence across campus, and the number of buildings can feel overwhelming at first. However, you鈥檒l spend most of your time in designated teaching spaces, where you鈥檒l also find student amenities, study areas, and collaborative spaces.

There are hundreds of clubs and societies run through the Warwick Students鈥� Union, covering everything from acapella to yoga.

Whether you want to continue a current interest or try something new, there鈥檚 something for everyone, and as a student, you鈥檒l automatically become a member of Warwick SU.

Student IT Induction

From setting up your laptop to accessing your email and exploring the software available to you, the new student IT guide will help you take your first steps and get up to speed with Warwick鈥檚 digital systems.

Transition Into Master's Study (TIMS) Week

Transition into Master's Study (TIMS) Week

Monday 5th - Friday 9th October 2026

During Week 1, alongside the teaching sessions for your first module, you will take part in Transition into Master's Studies (TIMS) Week, which is designed to prepare you for studying at master's level. Your TIMS timetable will be available to view on once you have arrived. TIMS sessions will cover topics such as time management, mind mapping, navigating your assessments, and developing critical thinking skills. Attendance at these sessions is essential.

In the meantime, we have included some information below to help you learn more about your modules, assessments, and the academic support available to you.

Modules

The individual elements of your degree are known as modules Each module has a different focus.

For most courses, you will usually attend 2 x 4 hour seminars each week. There may also be large lectures to attend instead of seminars where you will be with your whole course or other deviations to the standard, so please ensure that you check your Tabula timetable carefully to ensure you are aware of when to attend.

Your Timetable

If you are on a small course your classmates will all have the same timetable sessions. For large courses you will be allocated to groups of approximately 30 and will attend your seminars with that same group. The timetable section in your Tabula profile will indicate when you are timetabled to attend and where this will take place. It is essential that you attend the teaching sessions you are allocated to; it is not normally possible to swap.

Please note that group allocation will be carried out once all students have arrived and enrolled, and so your timetable may not show until Induction Week. Once published, your timetable will also display on the MyWarwick app.

Module Assessment

Module assessment usually comprises of a combination of various assignments which could include a group presentation, a test, a piece of work to be submitted, or an examination. You can see what assessment component a module has by viewing the relevant module page in the

Assessments are designed as an educational extension to a particular module that you attended.. Writing at Masters level can be daunting so during the year we will be offering resources and support to help you in your writing.

Personal Tutor

Your Personal Tutor will be assigned to you within the first few weeks, is an academic member of WMG staff who can provide you with general academic advice and help. If you experience problems during your time at Warwick, you have a named person who you can contact for help or advice in the first instance.

What is their role?

Your Personal Tutor is your first point of contact within the department to discuss any issues that arise, whether pastoral or academic.
You can draw on their experience and expertise as and when you need 鈥� they are your ongoing individual face-to-face relationship within the department and are here to support you throughout your time at Warwick.
They are also the most obvious person to provide references for you after you graduate, so it is worthwhile investing time into developing a strong working relationship.

WMG Events

From course socials during Welcome Week to festive activities and wellbeing-focused events, the Student Experience Team hosts a wide variety of activities throughout the academic year. These events are a great way to meet fellow students, take a break from your studies, and enjoy everything WMG student life has to offer.

You'll find all our event details on Microsoft Teams, MyAdvantage, and in our weekly Student Newsletter - so be sure to stay connected! You'll receive more information on all of these platforms during induction.

WMG Careers and Employability

The WMG Careers Team are here to support you throughout your time at Warwick, and after you graduate. During your induction you will meet team and where you will learn more about the opportunities and support available.

SSLC stands for Student-Staff Liaison Committee. There are SSLCs in each department in the University that feed into both the Students' Union and the University administration.

SSLCs are committees made up of elected student representatives and members of staff. They are student-led and provide an area for students and staff to discuss ideas and solve problems connected with teaching, learning and student support.

The are an independent organisation here to provide representation, support, and social activities to help you make the most of your time at Warwick.

International Student Support

If you are arriving from outside the UK, you can access a range of helpful information, including guidance on travelling to campus from the airport, opening a UK bank account, and accessing health services, as well as advice from fellow international students on making the best possible start to your academic journey at Warwick.

WMG Term Dates

The Full-time Masters course is one full year (September 2026 - September 2027). Postgraduate study does not follow the usual University term dates; you are expected to be available to attend taught sessions throughout the year.

The only exceptions are the following dates when the University is closed during Christmas week (21st December to 4th January) and Easter weeks (22nd March to 5th April).You are still expected to be working on your project but will not be in class during these breaks.
