Timetables
The Academic Calendar gives an overview of the structure of the year.
Individual timetables will be shared during induction. In the meantime, the general principles of the timetable are detailed below:
- MSc courses have 8 taught modules, 7 of which are delivered in 4-week blocks between October and mid-June, and one module (block 8) which is split and taught at key points throughout the year (see academic calendar for details)
- Each '4-week block' module has 8 hours of timetabled class time per week. Usually this is delivered in 2 x 4 hour (half-day) sessions but there will be a few exceptions (i.e. 4 x 2 hour sessions).
- Half-day sessions are paired as follows - please note you cannot switch between sessions
- Group A Monday morning & Wednesday morning
- Group B Monday afternoon & Thursday morning
- Group C Tuesday morning & Thursday afternoon
- Group D Tuesday afternoon & Friday morning.
- For small courses (of one group only) we try to stick to the same sessions throughout the year for timetable consistency. If you need details of the days your sessions will run, we should be able to provide that in August. Please email your request to wmgmasters@warwick.ac.uk and we'll provide as much information as available at that time. This is relevant for the following courses:
- Smart, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles
- Sustainable Automotive Electrification
- Games Engineering
- Management for Business Excellence
- All other courses have multiple groups which enables us to teach in small class sizes even on large courses. If you are joining a larger course and have a specific commitment on one day of the week, please talk with the WMG Student Office during induction and the team will try to adjust your grouping to accommodate this for you. Please note that we will usually switch the groupings of larger courses part way through the year so students have the opportunity to widen their networks within their cohort.
- Please be aware that the above general principles do not always apply to courses with specific lab requirements such as Cyber Security or Applied Artificial Intelligence. In particular, Cyber Security Management and Cyber Security Engineering have a number of shorter teaching sessions spread over the week and do not follow the group pairings detailed above.
