Dr Ruohan Zhang, Assistant Professor in Applied Artificial Intelligence at WMG, has led a major commissioned review for Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering on digital twin brains. "Building digital twin brains at the limits of measurement" draws on research from WMG, the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½â€™s Department of Computer Science, and Fudan University to tackle one of biology’s biggest questions: how close are we to building a digital twin of a living human brain?

WMG and Aurrigo International plc have been awarded a combined £1.43m of UK Government funding to boost airport safety through self-driving innovation. This collaborative research project, known as SENTRY, aims to reduce airport delays and safety risks by developing a fully autonomous airside vehicle to complete routine tasks, including safety patrols, runway inspections and debris removal.

WMG has welcomed Professor Peter Gammon and Dr Arne (Ben) Renz, establishing a new Compound Semiconductors research area. Both researchers bring extensive expertise in compound semiconductors from Warwick’s School of Engineering, significantly strengthening WMG’s capability in Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD), and reinforcing Warwick's position in one of the fastest-growing areas of advanced electronics.

Throughout June, representatives from Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ welcomed Ministers, regional leaders, industry groups, and guests from the University of Ghana. Staff also represented WMG in Parliament and at international graduation ceremonies.

These visits and meetings underscore WMG’s key role in bridging the gap between academia and industry, and highlight its strong commitment to collaboration and innovation regionally, nationally, and internationally.
