HetSys PhD Project Proposal - Advert
Project Advertisement Submission 鈥� Deadline: Friday 6th November
To help potential applicants compare projects more easily, our student focus groups have recommended a consistent format for all advertisements. Therefore we鈥檝e provided a standard form for you to complete by Friday 6th November to ensure we can maximise our advertising time.
Please include the following:

A catchy and informative project title

A 100-word project outline, written to be accessible to final-year science undergraduates

A suitable image to illustrate your project (dimensions: 1170 脳 375 pixels). Please note that student feedback has been largely negative regarding the use of AI-generated images.

A recent biography or a link to your University profile page (for all internal proposed supervisors)
- Please note that there are character and word number restrictions on the form, these are indicated on each section.
When writing your project description, please aim for clear, accessible language and keep specialist terminology to a minimum. Our applicants are highly capable, but may come from a range of scientific disciplines and will not necessarily be familiar with the terminology used in your particular field. Where technical terms are essential, a brief explanation can help ensure that the project鈥檚 aims and appeal are immediately clear to everyone.
If your project is funded, but you haven鈥檛 yet received formal confirmation by the deadline, we鈥檇 still appreciate receiving the completed form. We will hold off on advertising until the funding outcome is known.
As in previous years, we鈥檒l also be running a focus group with current HetSys students to help refine and target our advertisements more effectively.
