Communication

How we will contact you:

The Department sends out regular communications to keep you in touch with matters affecting your study, signposting support and highlighting opportunities.

Students should note that the University & department will ONLY contact you via your University e-mail address. Please be sure to check your e-mails on a regular basis so that you do not miss any important communications. To update your address please do so via the student record online page. Sign in to this page as usual and select 鈥楽tudent Records鈥� from the 鈥楳y Data鈥� link on the left hand menu.

Students should note that the University & department will use email as the primary means to contact you, so please be sure to check your student e-mail account on a regular basis so that you do not miss any important communications.

Undergraduate

The Undergraduate Office send out a weekly newsletter to keep you updated about your degree. Relevant role holders will also send regular emails offering opportunities, advice and support.

Postgraduate

The PG Newsletter is circulated every week during term time with information about upcoming talks, workshops, funding opportunities and external events. If you have anything you would like to share in the newsletter, please email it to PGHistoryOffice@warwick.ac.uk by Thursday 12pm.

Any students who are not based in the History Department, but would like to be included on the PG newsletter should e-mail pghistoryoffice@warwick.ac.uk. 

You can also find information via our Microsoft Teams channel This is used by staff and students to share a range of opportunities.

How you can contact us:

The atmosphere in the Department is friendly and informal and it is usually very easy to contact individual members of staff.

Email

You are encouraged to email staff if you have any queries. Staff will endeavour to respond to your emails within 3 working days.

Office Hours

These are times when staff will be available, either in person or online, to meet with you to provide advice and feedback. Some will hold drop-in sessions, whereas others will organise these by appointment.

All academic staff post their 鈥榦ffice hours鈥� on their staff profile pages specifying two regular periods per week when they will be available to meet with students. One of these periods may be online and the other face to face. You can also set up appointments at other times by emailing them. You are encouraged to make use of office hours to discuss anything related to your time at university.

Post

Undergraduate and postgraduate taught students should NOT have personal post sent to the department but to your term time address. Items posted to the department will be returned to the sender.

Any post for postgraduate research students will be delivered to the PGR student pigeonhole in Cluster A, FAB3.15.
