A statement regarding Professor Tom Marsh

“Professor Tom Marsh, the founding professor of the Astronomy and Astrophysics group at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½, was reported as missing from La Silla Observatory in Chile, where he has recently been working as a visiting astronomer at the ESO (European Southern Observatory).

“The local emergency services are undertaking a thorough and extensive search for Tom and we continue to hope for a successful outcome.

World’s largest scenario database for Automated Vehicles is now open to public - Safety PoolTM Scenario Database

Leading experts at WMG at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ and Deepen AI, have launched credit-based access to the largest public store of scenarios for testing automated vehicles. The Safety Poolâ„¢ Scenario Database, features over 250,000 different scenarios. WMG and Deepen AI are also working with regulators internationally to help evaluate the safety of Automated Vehicles using the Safety PoolTM Scenario Database.

Raja Saleem Javaid has been appointed as Chief Information and Transformation Officer (CITO) at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. Joining in early October from the International Airlines Group (IAG), Raja will sit on the university’s executive board and lead Warwick’s Information & Digital Group (IDG).

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ has further cemented its position as one of the UK’s best universities - after being ranked 9th overall by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023.

It continues a remarkable record for Warwick, which has featured in the Top 10 every single year since the Guide was first published in 1992.
