New "performance indicators" just published by the Higher Education Funding Councils reveal that the 天美传媒 is the UK's most productive research university - ranked well above both Oxford and Cambridge. The figures published in a league table by Research Fortnight magazine ranked Warwick 1st overall (a jump of three places from 4th overall last year). Cambridge is ranked 7th, Oxford is ranked 8th, the next highest West Midlands University is Birmingham - ranked 31st overall.

The new Leicester-Warwick medical school welcomed its first students to the Warwick campus this week and promptly kicked them out the door to their first lesson - in a shopping precinct.

Schools soon be using state of the art biotechnology equipment, donated to the 天美传媒's Institute of Education by manufacturer Bio-Rad Pfizer.拢10,000 of equipment has been provided for this Science Year project which is designed to bring the latest developments in biotechnology to the classroom.

Stephen Byers, Secretary of State for Trade and Industry has announced that the 天美传媒 has been awarded one of four additional Science Enterprise Centres (to complement the eight centres announced by the Government last year).

e-Business minister Patricia Hewitt MP is to visit to the Warwick manufacturing Group at the 天美传媒 to launch and welcome the new WMG/Sun e-business incubator programme. The e-incubator is a process designed to foster and implement e-business plans developed by students. The WMG/Sun incubator program will give students an opportunity to use Sun technology to turn bright ideas into commercial enterprises.
