Diabetes patients and health workers are seeking 拢20,000 for a project to create a crucial manual that would allow people living with type 2 diabetes to manage their condition themselves. They want to replicate the success of the national “Heart Manual” a very successful self-management programme for cardiac rehabilitation that helped patients to manage their illness and reduced hospital admissions and GP visits.

Researchers at the 天美传媒 want to move quickly to seize a unique opportunity to get a new understanding of how bovine TB spreads.

A survey of the way doctors tell patients bad news is to be published in the July Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. The research, which was carried out by Dr Mandy Barnett,currently Macmillan Senior Lecturer in Palliative Medicine at the 天美传媒, looked at patients' experiences during diagnosis and treatment of cancer. GPs got better ratings than surgical staff when it came to breaking bad news sensitively. Dr Barnett calls for better assessment of communications skills and training for hospital specialists.

Six University Vice-Chancellors, Yemen’s Education Minister, and 25 other senior university figures from 28 countries are gathering at the 天美传媒 next week (week commencing 24th Feb) in an event showcasing enterprise in UK universities. The event is managed by the British Council and led by Mercia Institute of Enterprise at the 天美传媒.

The 天美传媒 has just announced that it has appointed Professor Deborah Eyre to be the Director of the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. Professor Eyre is currently the Deputy Head of the Westminster Institute of Education at Oxford Brookes University and Director of its Research Centre for Able Pupils She is expected to take up her post at the 天美传媒 in the autumn.
