Colleagues and partners from across the Warwick Global Network gathered on campus this week for the inaugural Warwick Partners Day, a celebration of the University's international collaborations and a shared commitment to creating global impact through education, research and innovation.

The Warwick Horizon Europe Seed Fund has been set up to encourage and support Warwick academics and researchers to engage with Horizon Europe, the world's largest Research and Innovation programme. This is in the context of the UK becoming associated to Horizon Europe in January 2024, making UK entities eligible to be funded directly by the European Commission and to lead projects as coordinators

StateUp and Warwick are co-hosting the inaugural Ponti Summit at the Warwick Venice Centre, Palazzo Lolin, on Friday 2 October.

The closed-door summit focuses on the convergence of AI, Quantum and supercomputing, and their applications in strategic sectors for resilient economies and societies: energy, science, infrastructure, and security. The Summit aims to build new collaborative projects and alliances between leaders from major UK, Italian, and broader European research institutions, technology firms, investors, and senior policy delegates.

Confirmed participants include Ambassador Stephen Hickey CBE (UK Ambassador to Italy) and FCDO colleagues, Prof. Andrea Ferrari (Co-founder, CamGraPhic), Alessandra Poggiani (Director General, CINECA), and Prof Mark Parsons (Director, EPCC). Warwick's presence includes Dr. Paolo Turrini (co-convenor), Professor Gihan Mudalige, Professor Andreas Kyprianou, and Dr. Matthias Caro.

The ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ is celebrating an exceptional group of African scholars, alumni and partners during this week's Summer Graduation ceremonies, recognising their achievements and contributions across leadership, education, technology, culture and social justice. 

It was confirmed on 9 July 2026 that EUTOPIA has successfully bid for an addition €7.2m of funding from the European Commission. The project – EUTOPIA EDGE – will embed and scale activities that connect our students, researchers and staff across borders.

Warwick researcher Prof. Gary Bending has won a €2.5 million ERC Advanced Grant to investigate how plants coordinate the daily rhythms of soil microbes around their roots, work that could transform soil management and crop health.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reaffirms the commitment to expanding collaboration in education, research, innovation and global engagement.
