James Burford blogs about his thoughts on going to conferences as a journal editor
James Burford, Deputy Director of DEAR centre has published a new blog post on Conference Inference outlining his experience of attending conferences as one of the Editors in Chief of . James reflects on the experience of editors when attending conferences, (including whether they take with them their responsibilities of their role as an editor).
The blog discusses the different reasons for attending a conference, such as participation in panel discussions; their possible representation on Publishers stalls, or whether they are largely there in information-gathering mode, and enquiring into current research in related fields. James provides an interesting perspective into the actual experience of an editor at a conference and the part they play in the shared interest and knowledge exchange at such conferences.
