Title: Network Finance: The Life Cycle of Issuer Dependence

Abstract: Exploiting data on token-financed networks and information technology shocks, this paper shows that issuer information is positively associated with network adoption, but the association weakens as networks mature. The decline in issuer dependence is concentrated in ongoing rather than initial issuer information, while external information production through community engagement is associated with network adoption over longer horizons. The life-cycle pattern is robust and is not easily attributable to changes in network development. Evidence from token returns further sheds light on the increasing economic importance of network activity relative to continued issuer efforts.

Title: Optimal Stopping for Exponential L茅vy Models with Weighted Discounting

Abstract: In this talk, we consider an optimal stopping problem with weighted discounting, and the state process is modelled by a general exponential L茅vy process. Due to the time inconsistency, we provide a new martingale method based on a verification theorem for the equilibrium stopping strategies. As an application, we generalise an investment problem with non-exponential discounting studied by Grenadier and Wang (2007) and Ebert et al. (2020) to L茅vy models. Closed-form equilibrium stopping strategies are derived, which are closely related to the running maximum of the state process. The impacts of discounting preferences on the equilibrium stopping strategies are examined analytically.
