Among other groups, Black British Students remain underrepresented on our programme and in biomedical research as a whole. To address this we are offering ring-fenced studentships for Black British students.

To be eligible for these studentships you must be a British Citizen and belong to one of the following ethnic groups:

  • Black African
  • Black Caribbean
  • Black Other
  • Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
  • Mixed – White and Black African
  • Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other)

Applicants wishing to be considered for a ring-fenced studentship must indicate this in the relevant section of the application form. This will allow us to contextualise your application.

Note that all applicants are assessed in an equitable way, and the award of the ringfenced studenship will not be announced publicly.
