Fraser Birks (Cohort 4 ) Awarded Silver Medal at STEM for BRITAIN Competition
Fraser Birks, a PhD student within the HetSys CDT, recently visited the UK Parliament to compete in the Physics category of the prestigious STEM for BRITAIN poster competition.
Fraser was awarded the silver medal for his research poster exploring how machine learning can be applied within atomistic simulations, recognising the quality and impact of his work within computational and data-driven scientific research.
HetSys CDT Alumnus Thomas Rocke Delivers Workshop on Universal Hyperactive Learning
Thomas Rocke, a recent PhD graduate from Cohort 3 of the HetSys CDT and now a HetSys CDT alumni member, recently delivered a workshop on Universal Hyperactive Learning, a new tool designed to accelerate the development of training datasets for Machine Learning Interatomic Potential (MLIP) models.
