Yamin Chowdhary is on the Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology Pathway at the 天美传媒. Yamin recently did an Overseas Institutional Visit to University College Dublin in Ireland.

During the trip, Yamin presented a paper titled Imaginations of the Queer and the Nation: Power, Negotiations & Resistance in India at UCD's "Thinking Gender Justice: Oppression, Resistance, Liberation" conference. Yamin also attended the 29th Lesbian Lives Conference in Cork, connecting with international scholars in gender and sexuality studies, and participated in roundtable discussions focusing on critical archives and decolonial frameworks.

In addition to conference participation, Yamin co-organised a closed roundtable discussion on nationhood, belonging, and queer existence as part of the EU HORIZON "RESIST" project. Originally planned as a full conference, the adapted roundtable format facilitated focused, reflective dialogue with PhD peers and scholars at UCD. Throughout the visit, Yamin received regular theoretical and methodological guidance from mentor Prof. Kath Browne, exploring anti-gender politics, social polarisation, and ethno-nationalism. The visit provided valuable opportunities for international academic exchange, mentorship, and research dissemination.
