Warwick will be a major partner of this year’s The Times and The Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival. Exploring the 2017 theme of Who do we think we are? the festival brings the brightest most innovative thinkers to the stage we ask how we can solve the problems that divide us, and debate Britain’s new place on the world stage.

Warwick will be supporting a series of specially commissioned events exploring different the theme from different and thought provoking perspectives.

Harriet Paige has recently published her debut novel - Man With A Seagull on His Head (). She studied BA English and American Literature 1997-2000 and MA Writing 2004-05. Graduate of the Warwick Writing Programme Sophie Mackintosh has secured a publishing deal with Hamish Hamilton for her debut novel The Water Cure following a seven-way auction. For further details, see the .

She was awarded the for Adventures in Synthetic Fun, an essay exploring the concept of ‘synthetic fun’ coined in the 1960s by Jeremy Sandford, and the changing nature of fun in an era of increasing automation, disputed oppression, widespread affective labour, illusory meritocracy, costly social mobility, divisive politics, and a degraded imagination.

Katy studied on the BA English Literature and Creative Writing and the MA in Writing in the department.
